His music has been described by critics as “penetrating and magnetic, with pure, archaic vocals and sounds capable of conveying the power of pure love and the horror of intrigues and war“. Paolo Tortiglione composes music for dance, theater, orchestra, organ, chamber, and solo performances, often incorporating advanced electroacoustic techniques into many of his works.

His production is rooted in the tradition and Renaissance contrapuntal technique and serves as a conscious junction point for various languages, seeking to continue affinities with both the remote and recent past, while looking toward a possible future.

Thanks to the strong rhythmic energy that characterizes the strength of his music, Paolo Tortiglione collaborates regularly with choreographers, dance companies, and theater directors, as well as hosting various programs on Rai Radio3, where he has produced over 50 broadcasts.
